Vinceremos strolled around the Keeneland surface this morning doing it effortlessly as he prepares for the GI Toyota Bluegrass S. on Saturday, April 12th.
He is no stranger to the poly surface although his form will tell you otherwise. He was purchased by Twin Creeks Racing and WinStar off this very track a year ago when he showcased his talent during the 2-Year Old Keeneland Sale. He then trained on the poly surface at the WinStar Training Facility in Versailles, KY for a few months before heading to the Pletcher Camp.
This will be the 90th running of the GI Bluegrass S. going 1-1/8 miles for three-year-olds and has served as an important Kentucky Derby Prep since it’s inception; In-fact most horsemen would place this race on their “Bucket List”. The winner of this race will also be awarded 100 points and guaranteed a spot in the 2014 Kentucky Derby. Fourteen horses were entered with one also eligible.
Vinceremos has drawn post position twelve and will be ridden by Edgar Prado. The first post for Saturday at Keeneland is 12:35 pm and the estimated post time for the Blue Grass is 5:45 pm. The Blue Grass will also be televised on FOX Sports 1 as part of the new Jockey Club series of races.
