SILVER MISSION Follows in Daddy’s Footsteps

Silver Mission, the first starter for Mission Impazible, debuted in spectacular fashion on April 21st in the first race at Aqueduct.

Like Mission Impazible, who also won going 4-1/2 in April of his two year old year, Silver Mission was guided by Johnny V. from the number four post. He showed pure class like his sire both in the paddock and on the track. He showed grit when dueling from start to finish with another horse and when Johnny showed him the stick one time at the 16th pole he responded by pulling away from his competitor.

Silver Mission, as a New York-sired New York-bred, earned, in addition to the $60,000 winner’s share of the purse, a 30% breeder’s award for his victory ($18,000), a 20% open company owner’s award ($12,000) and 10% stallion owner’s award ($6,000) from the Fund. Moreover, with added Fund and NYRA incentives this spring for the New York 2-year-old racing program, Twin Creeks Racing/Sequel Racing earned a $9,000 owner’s bonus and Todd Pletcher earned a $4,000 trainer’s bonus.
