Trainer Mark Casse visited the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred preferred yearling sale for the first time Aug. 16 and ended up signing the ticket for a $300,000 Speightstown filly on behalf of owner John Oxley.
The filly, Hip 491, was consigned by Denali Stud, agent. She is out of theMedaglia d’Oro mare Glory Gold.
“(Oxley) was here earlier in the day and looked at her,” Casse said. “He has been doing his own bidding this year, but he had an engagement so he asked me if I’d come bid. He loved her. He asked me to look at a few horses, and I put together a list for him, and he went and saw her, and he said, “I really like her, Mark.’
