Two weeks removed from Destin’s sixth-place finish in the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby, the lone defeat of the horse’s career, Todd Pletcher assistant Byron Hughes reports that Twin Creeks Farm and Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners’ sophomore colt has trained forwardly out of the race and remains on course for the Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes on June 11.
The Giant’s Causeway colt earned an official half-mile time of 48.22 seconds over the Belmont Park training track Friday morning.
